ANALISIS MENINGKATNYA KANDUNGAN MINYAK HASIL PROSES OILY WATER SEPARATOR DI ATAS KAPAL MV. NOAH SAFIRA

Abstract

Oily Water Separator (OWS) is one of the auxiliary machines that is able to separate oil from waste water containing oil until the separation results reach less than 15 ppm so that marine waste water does not cause pollution. This aircraft has a role to prevent pollution at sea in accordance with MARPOL 1973 ANNEX I. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors causing the increase in oil content resulting from the Oily Water Separator process. The research was carried out when the authors carried out marine practices (prala) on the ship MV. NOAH SAFIRA belongs to the company PT. Solusi Pelayaran Internasional Nusantara. The source of the data obtained from the research site is by using technical methods of observation, interviews and literature studies related to the contents of the thesis. The results obtained from the study indicate that the Oily Water Separator does not operate normally, because the tool is operated on the basis of the habits of the Crew, which is sometimes they do not understand, so they do not follow the correct operating instructions according to the operating manual, and the Coallescer Filter is dirty. It is hoped that after this research the readers, especially for officers and crew majoring in machinery can carry out according to the manual for the operation and routine maintenance of the aircraft.
